This presentation was given to the Ship Repair Association in Portsmouth, Virginia on April 18, 2006. It consists of two sections. The first offers several charts that explain the labor market trends in the Ship Building and Repair industry (NAICS 336611) within the metropolitan statistical area, and how this industry compares to total area, State, and the U.S. The second section describes VELMA (Virginia's Electronic Labor Market Access system), the new Local Employment Dynamics (LED) and On The Map systems.
Historical Current Employment Statistics - These reports show historical trends in employment hours and earnings for Virginia and Metropolitan Areas. The data within the reports comes from the Current Employment Statistics (CES) program.
This report shows the manufacturing data in the U.S. during 1870 along with comparisons of 1870 and 2014 manufacturing data.
